This month we focus on a specific treatment you may not know about, provide a learning opportunity and celebrate Women’s History Month.
Facial Rejuvenation Treatments
Facial rejuvenation acupuncture has been used for centuries and is deeply rooted in Chinese Medicine. This style of acupuncture benefits patients by amplifying their own natural beauty, nourishing overall skin health, decreasing severity of skin conditions, and premature aging.
Skin health and appearance comes from within. During your treatment ultra-thin hair size needles are gently inserted into the skin of the face, scalp, or neck. This stimulates collagen and elastin production by creating a microtrauma to the tissue. Additionally, facial rejuvenation acupuncture decreases inflammation, redness, and increases blood flow to the area of concern. Facial rejuvenation acupuncture is helpful in reducing the severity of skin conditions such as acne, acne scarring, rosacea flare ups, dark circles, and general puffiness. In combination with acupuncture, we use other therapies to enhance the total effect including LED light therapy, cupping, guasha, herbs, and nutrition. Light therapy has been shown to reduce mild to moderate acne, boost collagen production, speed wound healing, and reduce inflammation.
We recommend patients receive 10 treatments over the course of 5-10 weeks for best results. You may also choose to come in on an as needed basis during a skin flare up or for more acute conditions. We use facial acupuncture to help:
- Reduce fine lines and even out deeper lines
- Reduce redness
- Even out skin texture and tone
- Reduce acne flare ups and pain
- Reduce rosacea flare ups
- Increase skin vibrancy

Woman’s History Month
Dr. Shui Wan Wu was a legendary and pioneering Chinese American woman acupuncturist and was well represented in the media for her demonstrations and lectures on acupuncture. Without Dr. Wu’s work US acupuncture may not be the same. We are forever indebted to her contributions to the legalization of acupuncture in the United States.
